Rebekah Brooks Arrested for News of the World Phone Hacking Scandal

Rebekah Brooks has gone from an employee of Rupert Murdoch, to the former editor of News of the World, to a woman under arrest all in one week. The disgraced journalist resigned from News International on Friday, following the revelation that her newspaper tapped the phones of over 4,000 people, including celebrities and the families of 9/11 victims. Now, British police confirm they have arrested Brooks for her role in this scandal. Brooks stands accused of conspiring to intercept communications and of bribing cops for information. She is the sixth, and the highest-ranked, News Corp official to be arrested in this case. The 43-year old is a friend of Prime Minster David Cameron and started working at News International in 2000.
