Chris Brown Apologizes For GMA Freakout, Feels "Exploited" By Robin Roberts
Chris Brown made headlines this week, and not strictly for the release of his new album, F.A.M.E. He may have even more enemies to forgive at this point. The star exploded on Good Morning America followed a tense on-air chat with Robin Roberts, reportedly smashing a dressing room window and storming out. During a Wednesday appearance on the BET video show 106 and Park, Brown made his first public comment on the incident, offering this apology: "First of all, I want to apologize to anybody who was startled in the office, or anybody who was offended or really looked, and [was] disappointed at my actions." Brown added: "Because I'm disappointed in the way I acted." Brown says he was "thrown off" by Robin's line of questioning, and said that he feels she only brought up the Rihanna incident in an effort to "exploit me." The singer says he did in fact explode backstage "to release the anger that I had inside me," but added that "I got very emotional and I apologize for that." While Roberts says Chris was aware she would ask about Rihanna, he said the talking points approved by his people were about "positivity" and his album. ABC says no "talking points were offered." GMA host Roberts and ABC at large aren't holding a grudge in any case. Yesterday, she said she was "shocked like everybody else" by how things turned out. Today, Roberts added that "it's time to move on." Her relationship with Brown has been "wonderful," she said, and he'd be welcomed back. ABC is not pressing charges and Chris is still on for DWTS next week. He got lucky in that respect. The apology is a good start. If we were Brown, for the sake of his career prospects if nothing else, we wouldn't stop at just one. What do you think? Are you on Chris' side? [Photo: Fame Pictures]celebrity weddings
